— Baby's description from the Freddy Files

Circus Baby the Clown is an animatronic in the novel series and serves as the secondary antagonist of Five Nights at Freddy's: The Fourth Closet. She is an alternate counterpart of Circus Baby from Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location and the mascot of Circus Baby's Pizza.

Appearance[]

Original Novel Trilogy[]

Humanoid Form[]

Circus Baby's humanoid form is described as "elegant and feminine", her walk as "gracefully, yet mechanically". The split face is said to appear "exquisitely sculpted" with "rosy cheeks, "enormous, round eyes" and "long, black lashes". She has that red and white outfit with a short skirt; her hair is tied into two "silky pigtails". Her overall appearance is dominated by "sleek and controlled beauty". Jessica also notes that Baby looks like a mannequin.

When Afton was first developing her, she had the same long brown hair long frizzy brown hairstyle as Charlie. But after Elizabeth was scooped and possessed the animatronic, she was redesigned to have short orange hair along with her two pigtails.

Animatronic Form[]

Circus Baby's animatronic form has a similar appearance to her form in the games. She is described as a gigantic, cartoonish child with slim red hair, as well as a frilly red crop top with a matching skirt. She has many features relating to a clown. Her facial features include a pale face, long eyelashes, rosy cheeks, red lips, a garish pink nose, bright green eyes, and vibrant blue eyebrows. Her pins are described as thin, sharp spines like porcupine's needles, each capped with red knob-like pinheads that stuck out of her face, her body, her arms, and her legs. In this form, her stomach can split open at the middle and shoot out an enormous mass of wires and prongs. She is described as "pretty and shiny" by Elizabeth.

Charlotte's Form[]

The Charlotte 'Charlie' animatronic that Baby disguised herself as resembles a teenage girl with pale skin wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and, like the original human Charlotte that it was based off of, an olive green long-sleeve jacket. She also wears fitted dresses, combat boots, and high heels, while the third Charlie, the previous novels' Charlie, had not.

Endoskeleton Form[]

As shown in the Silver Eyes Graphic Novel, Circus Baby's endoskeleton form resembles Endo-02, but almost an identical appearance to his counterpart from Five Nights at Freddy's 2. The wires from his original core series character are missing, and the endoskeleton frame is much simpler.

Personality[]

Despite her sweet and playful personality as Charlotte, Circus Baby has a jealous and sardonic personality. When asked by Charlie about 'the fourth Charlotte', Circus Baby admits that she was made alive by Henry's fury, his rage poured into her while he sieved her metal endoskeleton together. When telling Charlie about Elizabeth, Circus Baby says, as Elizabeth; "Suddenly, her pain faded to the background, replaced with fascination, obsession." and that she "wanted so desperately to have been the one on that stage, but it was always her. All of his love went into her." Elizabeth was obsessed with Circus Baby, perhaps even jealous, and considering that Circus Baby houses Elizabeth's soul, it stands to reason that her obsession and jealousy passed on to Circus Baby. Other instances where Elizabeth voices her obsession and near jealousy would be when she admits that she "wanted to be (Circus Baby), The focus of (William's) attention, the center of his world."

Circus Baby when telling how Elizabeth dies calls herself, 'beautiful' and 'lovely'.

She tries to kill Charlotte's robotic counterpart due to jealously of the life that Charlotte had the opportunity to experience. Baby is also described as someone who cares deeply for her father due to Elizabeth's personality. She is also seen as a germaphobe, as she cleans her hands after she kills Aunt Jen or when she is removing organs from William.

Five Nights at Freddy's Novel Series[]

The Twisted Ones[]

At the end of the Twisted Ones, As Charlie's friends mourn over her death at a diner, Baby, disguised as Charlie, drives up and gets out. As soon as Baby arrived at the door, Marla and Jessica rush to the doorway to meet her. Arty seemed confused, and John watched for a steady moment. John didn't speak until Arty met his gaze. "That's not Charlie."

The Fourth Closet[]

Circus Baby (TFC)

Elizabeth finding Baby in William's workshop, TFC: Graphic Novel.

In The Fourth Closet, Circus Baby is helping William test on Funtime Freddy by rising the temperature. This was because William Afton wanted to keep rising the temperature. However, Circus Baby warned William Afton that, rising the temperature will destroy the endoskeletons, but only for Afton to respond to Circus Baby, "They will become more, just like you did."

Circus Baby later appears disguised as Charlotte Emily asking Jessica to help her get ready for her date with John, after having a talk about a few of her near-death experiences, but not questioning about Jen. John and Jessica drive to an abandoned mining town named Shining Star, Silver Reef to look for Aunt Jen. after finding and meeting Jen, they soon find the real Charlotte in a chest. Circus Baby, disguised as Charlotte, shows up to Jen’s house and brutally murders her, while saying "I love you too," "I really do."

Elizabeth's death

A memory of Baby killing Elizabeth, TFC: Graphic Novel.

It is revealed to Charlie by Baby, that she isn't human. Rather, she was the third of four planned robots made by her father Henry to mimic her growing up. There were four robots planned, each simulating a stage in life. However, Henry committed suicide before the fourth one was finished. That fourth unfinished robot became Baby and revealed to Charlie that all her memories of her with her father were just recordings made by a camera on a tripod. Baby was the scrap robot in the corner of Henry's workshop in some of Charlie's 'memories'.

During the final battle, Baby fights with John and Charlie, who then stabs herself and Elizabeth through the chest with the suicide robot's knife. In the epilogue, it is implied that, somehow, Charlie managed to take over her final body from Elizabeth and is now with John in a relationship.

She first appeared in To Be Beautiful, the second story of Fazbear Frights: Into the Pit and she is mentioned in Frailty, the first story of Tales from the Pizzaplex: Lally's Game.

Appearance[]

Eleanor is said to have a painted face, with pink cheeks and lips. Her red hair is tied into two tight pigtails, and her eyes are a bright green with long lashes. Her body is sleek and silver, with a long neck, tiny waist, and a rounded bust and hips. Her arms and legs are long and skinny. Her body is also small.

Personality[]

Although she may initially appear to be gentle, thankful and sweet, this is just a disguise she uses to earn people's sympathy. She's actually an evil and manipulative creature, who tends to lie and deceive, and shows sociopathic behavior, treating everybody as a slave to reach her goals. She likes to tease and mock her adversaries, winking at Jake McNally after absorbing the evil contained inside the Stitchwraith, and telling Sarah she made her wish come true while she's dying. The only person so far, she's shown to have some sort of positive relationship with is William Afton, as shown by her giving him the power to create the amalgamation and sustaining him when he was too weak. However, it's unknown whether her collaborating with Afton was out of genuine affection towards him, or simply as a way to gain something for herself; It's very likely to be the latter, as she abandons him to die once she gained what she wanted.

History[]

Fazbear Frights Series[]

To Be Beautiful[]

Eleanor was first encountered in the dumpster by Sarah, who takes her home and cleans her up, believing her to be beautiful even if she doesn't work. In return, Eleanor gifts Sarah with a cartoonish heart necklace that allows Sarah to appear more beautiful every day, with the only condition being that she never take it off. Sarah is skeptical and believes it to be a dream when she wakes up the next day with Eleanor slumped and turned off, until she notices her hands.

The necklace works as it should and Sarah becomes more beautiful every day, first her hands, then her legs, then her body, and finally, her face and hair. Sarah is delighted and believes Eleanor to be her best true friend. One night, Sarah is sleeping and has a nightmare. She is on a date with her boyfriend, Mason, when she goes to look at him but it's not his face, it's Eleanor's. Eleanor smiles, revealing a mouthful of sharp teeth. Sarah wakes up to find Eleanor crouched over her bed, staring at her. Sarah asks if she was making a noise, and Eleanor replies that nothing is wrong, but she wants to keep Sarah safe. Sarah uncomfortably tells Eleanor to sit on the opposite side of the room and doesn't sleep for the rest of the night.

Eventually, Sarah trips and her necklace comes off, revealing Eleanor's true intentions. Sarah begins to fall apart, becoming scrap metal. She runs to her house and screams for Eleanor, yanking on a closet door to stop herself from falling over as she loses contact with her nerves. Plastic bags fall out of the cupboard, revealing severed limbs, organs, and a familiar potato-shaped nose. Sarah realizes that piece by piece, Eleanor had removed parts of Sarah's body, replacing them with scrap metal. As Sarah comes apart, Eleanor presses a heart-shaped button on her throat and takes Sarah's old, unchanged appearance as the little girl slowly dies off.

Sometime later, the Sarah disguise is blown again revealing Eleanor. Eventually she breaks down and is found by the Stitchwraith, to be brought into the abandoned factory.

Stitchwraith Stinger - The Cliffs[]

While Jake is trying to prevent other animatronics from being absorbed into The Agony, possessed by William Afton, he discovers Eleanor in the midst. She pins Jake down to the ground. Jake had been partially infected during his prior fight against the Agony, and Eleanor decided to absorb that infection from him. This allows her to be absorbed into the creature.

Before the Agony is destroyed, Eleanor separates herself from it and enters a vent opening in the factory. The Agony sinks to the bottom of the lake after being defeated by The Marionette. Jake realizes that Afton was barely clinging onto life and that someone else was giving him power.

Stitchwraith Stinger - Gumdrop Angel and The Puppet Carver[]

Eleanor appears as a homeless girl that was about to beat up by some drug dealers before being saved by Jake. However, this isn't revealed until Stinger #10.

Eleanor introduces herself as Renelle. Jake explains he "protected" her from the drug dealers, for which Renelle thanks him for, and explains that she's not afraid of Jake's appearance because the real monsters are the ones who take advantage of others. She recounts her backstory, of how her father became obsessed about his work after her mother's death, eventually kicking her out after she stole some money. Renelle realizes she still misses, and her father and Jake promises that he will help her.

Stitchwraith Stinger - Friendly Face[]

Meanwhile, Jake and "Renelle" visit her father's house, and the man turns out to be no one else than Dr. Talbert himself. As Jake looks through the house, he sees a picture of Talbert and Dr. Phineas Taggart, the man who created the Stitchwraith and got killed by it. Another picture was of Talbert and his daughter, except she didn't have brown hair and blue eyes like Renelle did; She had black hair and brown eyes. Larson enters Talbert's house just in time to see Renelle change into the girl in the picture.

Suddenly, he saw a vision of Eleanor. He realizes she is not the little girl standing before him but a corruptive evil entity that fed off people's suffering. He was so appalled by her evil he tried to shoot her with his gun, but lost consciousness before managing to do it, only whispering her name. Within the mindscape, he saw several visions that show Eleanor is the mastermind behind most events that have happened in the series. She was the one who gave the Plushtrap Chaser his human eyes and teeth. She was the one torturing Delilah, not her doll Ella like she thought. She was holding down Pete Dinglewood after he was hit by a truck in Step Closer to perform an operation on him. She was the greater evil that was helping William Afton and was the second signal in William's brain mentioned in The Man in Room 1280. She was also the one who had latched onto Toby Billings' shadow, manifesting as RWQFSFASXC from the arcade game, leeching off of his competitive nature in Hide and Seek and was the one who pushed Sam under the train in Blackbird.

Meanwhile, back in reality, Dr. Talbert hugs Eleanor, who was impersonating his daughter. Jake realizes she was the evil entity helping Afton or at the very least had the true threat inside of her. He pushes her against the wall, but Eleanor uses her illusion powers to make it look like he stabbed her. Talbert pulls out a gun and shoots Jake, destroying the Stitchwraith's battery pack and disabling the animatronic. Jake watches at Talbert gives his "daughter" some remnant and realizes this was Eleanor's plan all along - She wanted remnant to become more powerful and become eternal.

Eleanor's disguise melts away, revealing her true form...

Stitchwraith Stinger - Prankster[]

After Larson, travelling through the memory world, finds the ball pit and jumps in it, he's taken to another memory, set in a junkyard. Here, Eleanor jumps out of a broken car and attacks him, but he manages to throw her into a trash compactor, weakening her in real life. Larson wakes up and catches a glimpse of Eleanor's true form, a heinous and horrendous mannequin-shaped creature with tendrils made of blackened blood coming out from every opening in her body, but he's then soon forced back into the memory world by her. Eleanor fights Larson again in a garage with boxes full of Christmas decorations, but is once again defeated by him, who defends using paperweights and a candelabra, and again in a bedroom with a Freddy Fazbear poster, where she jumps out of a closet and is hit by Larson with a bat. They have a final showdown in a factory building, where Eleanor seems to prevail over the detective.

In the real world, Jake has managed to get up and is getting closer to her. Eleanor attempts to keep him away with her tendrils, but Larson stops her by holding her down and strangling her. Jake uses his energy to heat her animatronic body until it burns, and then confines Eleanor into one of her memories, rendering her inoffensive and allowing Larson to wake up again. Eleanor's burnt up robotic body lays inanimate finally defeating her and avenging the people she tormented and killed.

Tales from the Pizzaplex Series[]

Frailty[]

One of Eleanor's victims named, Jessica comes across the mechanical doll in a scrapyard and was gives a heart-shaped necklace with Eleanor telling her to never take it off under any circumstance, however Jessica realizes that Eleanor has been replacing her body parts with metal. Years later, Jessica has a dream where she could hear the metal footsteps of Eleanor chasing after her and rips her limbs off before taking the pendant away before the dream ends.

Trivia[]
